B-Ball in the driveway

I'm continuing to practice shooting outside - definitely need to practice with the flash, since when I use it I hate it! I used the flash at first but didn't like it so I jacked up the ISO to the highest setting so I could shoot in the evening with little light. (Thus the grain) I do like the motion in the ball. I'll keep practicing!

This & That

This one is of my 5-year-old at my dad's house near Elmer, NJ, where I grew up. It brings me back to the wide open spaces I remember as a kid - cornfields and farms for miles and miles.


I'm not sure if any of these are good enough to post, but there was something I liked about the reeds with the birdbath behind.

This old mixer in a restaurant window caught my eye - this is in Elmer, NJ at the Bistro on Broad.

Out for Mother's Day with mom & sis -- I was trying to take some table shots in a dark restaurant without using the flash.

My youngest boy I swear is part monkey - he's always climbing and swinging. This is on the basketball pole at Narberth playground, killing time before we go to the circus. He has some great expressions, this one.

New Hope

Just got back from New Hope. (I take my husband away for 1 night for his birthday every year and this year he chose New Hope.) I didn't take a lot of photos, but I liked these 2 scenes a bit.

She's a natural!

This little girl was a photographer's dream! I find in general girls like to "perform" and have fun taking pictures; boys, on the other hand (and this includes my 2 guys) just want to get it over with! But I managed to get some good ones of the little guy, too!

Cool Dude

I have a new favorite child to photograph! This is a friend of my 5-year-old and he's also featured below. I was volunteering at their school like I do every year around Mother's Day to take photos of moms with their children, and he gave me this great moment. I liked it better in BxW.

A petal shower

We have a tree in our yard with beautiful pink blossoms - I look so forward to spring because it's so stunning. My older son threw a football in the air and the pink petals come down on him -- so I grabbed my camera and made him do it again! I even had to bribe him with Hershey kisses!!

More Outdoor Shots

This is what my driveway looks like pretty much every day, even today when it was raining a bit. My older son would play hockey 24/7 if I let him! I was trying to get a cool angle of the feet and sticks but that failed so I went behind the net.


There's a great restaurant in my hometown of Elmer, NJ run by a woman I went to high school with. It's called the Broad St Bistro or the Bistro on Broad - something like that. She moved the restaurant into a house and it's lovely. The food is great and it has a wonderful atmosphere. This caught my eye on the door.


Just took this tonight of my 5-year-old in the driveway. He likes to ride his bike right through the middle of the hockey game!

Outdoor shooting

I'm trying to do more outdoor shooting, which I'm not that good at - it's kinda hit or miss. But we learn by doing so I'm trying to get out there and shoot away! I loved when this boy put his chin on a basketball sitting across from me at a school event. I had to burn a bit of sun on his face though that was too bright. Be on the lookout for more outdoor images!
